Job Description

This person must be detail-oriented, energetic, and able to work in a fast-paced environment. In this role, you’ll develop and oversee social media marketing strategies to ensure clients’ goals are met while providing support in other digital arenas. 

To ensure success as a digital marketing specialist, you should be able to develop and execute complex digital strategies in an accurate and timely manner. You will also need to be comfortable interfacing with clients to explain your strategic recommendations and present regular performance reports.

The ideal candidate consumes social media daily, subscribes to their favorite brands’ mailing lists, follows trends, and stays up-to-date on the latest developments within the digital marketing sphere. The person who fills this role is eager to present findings to the team for direction that can be applied to clients in new and creative ways to increase engagement and improve performance. Our digital marketing specialist is someone who is passionate about leveraging social media to help nonprofits raise awareness of their missions and grow their fundraising.

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities

This role will report directly to the Senior Account Manager and is responsible for:

  • Collaborating with the Senior Account Manager to ensure cohesive monthly, quarterly, and annual marketing plans for five (5) clients
  • Identifying client needs by engaging in regular in-person or virtual meetings to outline their digital goals
  • Developing and executing on excellent social media strategies for five (5) clients
  • Owning all social media platforms for five (5) clients (including copywriting, graphic creation, posting, monitoring, moderating, and budget management for paid advertising)
  • Supporting email marketing through graphic creation, execution of list segmentation, and email design or copywriting as needed to ensure email is developed and approved by clients according to deadlines 
  • Managing digital content creation and client website updates (including but not limited to blogs, campaign-based updates to ensure cohesive digital marketing across email, social, and website, and collaborating with the tech team to complete low-level support tickets)
  • Delivering regular performance analytics updates that clearly demonstrate performance and the effectiveness of digital strategies by tracking metrics such as conversion rates and CPAs and making informed recommendations based on these reports
  • Thinking of new creative ways to use existing or new forms of media to create dynamic, fun, and interactive content

Essentials for this role

  • Proficiency with social media and digital platforms, such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, TikTok, and YouTube
  • Experience with CRM, design, marketing automation, and tech tools (such as: Adobe, Asana, Canva, G Suite, Google Analytics, HubSpot, InDesign, Later, Mailchimp, KeyNote, Photoshop, Salesforce, WordPress)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to see the big picture and proactively plan for today accordingly
  • Extensive knowledge of digital best practices, marketing strategies, and social media management
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to thrive under pressure and work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • A team player mindset with pro-level multitasking skills comfortable wearing multiple hats
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts simultaneously
  • A strong eye for quality and accuracy within individual client brands and tones
  • A love of systems, organization, and project management

Skills and Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication, or a related field
  • 5+ years working in social media marketing with proven experience crafting innovation, best-in-class, community-first content
  • At least one certification in social media or other digital marketing is preferred
  • Nonprofit experience highly preferred
  • Agency experience highly preferred
  • Speaks Spanish a plus
